Don't pay $70-$90 for crappy strops on Amazon and Ebay, which use cheap leather and soft woods.
The rolled buffalo strops are my best selling strops. After testing dozens of types of leather, this particular grade of leather has proven to be suited for practically every type of knife steel. The leather is extremely resilient, and does not warp, and very dense, due to how it was finished. Can be loaded with any compound, or used bare.
If loading, I have found that around 14K grit is the upper usable limits. Any finer, the Law of Diminishing Returns really kick in.
The rolled buffalo leather is a perfect strop for beginners or pro knife sharpeners.
Premium grade leather for stropping your knives and razors to their absolute sharpest.
Limited edition run of rare buffalo hide, press and rolled, to create an extremely hard, even, and smooth surface.
Perfect for those who like stropping, but don't want the leather to give, potentially ruining, or rounding off a microbevel.
The hides are all between 7-9 oz in weight.
Base material options: carbon fiber, acrylic / polycarbonate
Dimensions: 10" x 2.5" for general stropping 12" x 3 " for general stropping for larger knives
Using it for daily blade maintenance and its working great. Brings the edge back to life after 20 strokes or so. To compound or not to compound is the question now. Acryl base is solid and the rubber feets stick great.
High quality material within an excellent base to hold it
Very Good Quality
This was was my first purchase from Burrfection. It arrived right away and I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the leather. Thank you for the videos, Ryky.
